5 ways to make the right impact with tiles

Much like any room, decorating the walls is one of the easiest ways to add impact into a scheme. What we put in these areas makes a big difference to the overall impression of the home and there are several things you should consider before making your tile choices.

1. Feature walls

The fashion for feature walls may have cooled somewhat, but they are still a great way to add a decorative flourish to a room. They are also ideal if you want to try out a daring colour choice or indulge in a style you wouldn’t normally go for. The important thing with feature walls is to select the wall you wish to highlight carefully; in the kitchen it makes sense to use tiles in the splashback and surrounding areas while covering a large expanse of wall will totally reinvent the space.

2. Trend Led

With trends often growing and changing, feature walls are also fantastic for embracing a trend that you may want to refresh in a few years’ time. Tiling one wall is easier to update in the long run but will still completely transform an area…

3. Bespoke printing

If you’ve got something in mind but can’t quite find it, a bespoke design could be for you. Even if it’s something really unusual, you’ll be surprised at what we can create on tiles!

4. Defining an area

Finishing touches are so important, especially in interiors. If you are tiling a difficult area we have a whole host of skirting, mouldings and finishing pieces that will help towards perfection. If you haven’t considered mouldings or border tiles, take some time to look through the options we have, as they are brilliant for framing, highlighting and finishing.

5. Small rooms

Small rooms are the perfect place for going a bit bolder with your tile choices, especially in areas like cloakrooms and hallways. While decorating with light colours and proportionally scaled patterns is good advice for smaller rooms, there is scope to be daring too. Embracing a dark interior will make for a real impact and a deep colour scheme will create a calming atmosphere.
